Custom Copper from Hans Liebscher, a True German Craftsman

Custom copper has had a rough time lately with the escalating price of commodities. But that may be changing as the world economy crumbles. No matter what the economy is doing, copper remains a timeless building material that actually gets better with age (unless you really like perpetually shiny things). I never had the pleasure of doing any custom copper until recently. We have some exposed wood beams that I really do not want to replace anytime in the next couple decades, so a contractor I know suggested copper beam caps. I got two bids, and went with Hans Liebscher Custom Copper Works and Sheetmetal. He is in the San Diego area, has a great web site, responded to me very quickly, crafted the beam caps even faster, charged a reasonable rate, and even hand-delivered them to us here in San Diego. Hans also showed me a few of his other beautiful projects including a custom copper flagpole base with repousee copper work. He specializes in curved gutters, decorative downspouts, ornamental hardware, leaderheads and even has patents on copper roof tiles. Prices vary per project. You can reach Hans in San Marcos, California at 760-471-5114 or online at HansCopper.com
