It’s on the Level: Werner Equalizer Extension Ladder

werner-equalizer-extension-ladderNot all of us are lucky enough to live on a perfectly leveled plot of land. Little slopes along the sides of homes are fairly common – just ask anyone who’s had water runoff into their basement (ugh). These lumps and bumps in the ground make things a little difficult if you’re trying to balance on a ladder along said slope. So what’s an Uneven Steven to do when they need to get the ladder along side of the house to patch up a bit of siding? (Oh, who am I kidding? It’s to get the Nerf football out of the eaves trap that was thrown up there in a moment of athletic spazziness.) Werner has come up with a dandy of an idea – the Equalizer Ladder. The concept is simple but expertly done – each leg of the ladder can be adjusted to different heights. Increments as small as 3/8” can be made on this ladder and a built-in level ensures you’re perfectly balanced. If only the other off-kilter aspects of life were so easily “equalized.” The smallest of the models reaches a max. height of 16’ and the tallest model reaches 28’. They’re also available in fiberglass too (although I couldn’t find them on Amazon), which I’d recommend over aluminum due to decreased electrocution risk. . . .so they’ve got that going for them. Prices vary from about $200-$400. The Werner D17162EQ Equalizer 16-Foot Aluminum Extension Ladder with Integrated Leveling System can be yours for just under $200.
