Industrial DIY Light Switch Plates

steampunk_diy_light_switch_plateTaking a blowtorch to things isn’t exactly my forte. Anyone who has tried my crème brulee knows this to be true. I might be swayed to pick up the torch again now that I’ve seen some very cool work by Jake von Slatt of Steampunk Workshop. Perhaps there are a few HomeFixated readers that could use this DIY inspiration too.

Brass (not brass-plated) light switch plates, bits and bobs (like little cogs, gears and wheels – whatever turns your crank – pun fully intended), some solder and solder paste, a nice hot torch and bit of imagination took a basic décor item and turned it into one-of-a-kind piece of functioning art with an industrial edge.

Check out the step-by-steps and the various creations over on Steampunk Workshop.
