caulk

caulk warmer bagSeriously, I’m going to pass this chance up? To be the first on my block to review a caulk warmer? This is like the biggest freebie in the history of mankind. My wife can’t say a thing because this is legitimate journalism.  Marc listed this as a product to review and I jumped at the chance to grab a hold and make it happen. Seriously.  [click to continue…]

For a lot of my younger years I enjoyed the demolition and rough framing part of building. There is a lot to be said for cutting, hammering and breaking things, just look at the stuff on Spike TV. However, as I’ve gotten older, fatter and more frustrated, I’ve come to enjoy the finer types of jobs. You know, the ones that require less of me falling off of things, being cut/stabbed/poked, not to mention being able to finish without losing any more of my hair. And that’s why I am all about painting. window_draftIf you suspect you have a draft from your window, it’s something to take care of sooner than later. Your home can lose energy from heat exiting and even require more heat to compensate the cold air that could be coming in. [click to continue…]

fastcap-caulked-n-readyWhen I first saw the Caulked N Ready from Fastcap, I rejoiced at all the crude grade-school “caulk” jokes I could make. Then I remembered Jen already took care of that in her article on the Red Devil Color Caulk System. So, other than the article title, I promise that no sentence about the Caulked N Ready could be misinterpreted in any sort of inappropriate way. As you regular readers of Home Fixated know, we never stoop to the level of low-brow humor.

If you’re like me, you want immediate access to your caulk, and you don’t want to fumble around for it right when it’s needed most. There’s just nothing more awkward. That’s why I was excited to learn about the Caulked N Ready, which promised me easy access to my caulk, especially when slung along my pant leg. [click to continue…]
