Caulking is one of those things that seems pretty easy to do…but in reality it’s a big pain. It’s not very fun, glamorous, and if you need an example of this…there is no such show as Caulking With the Stars. It’s also one of those things that seem pretty mundane, and I’ve found by and large that mundane construction tasks get over looked…you know…like setting up proper scaffolding. Just because a job is boring as hell–doesn’t mean it isn’t important. Caulking is one of those things that can really tighten up your home, make a paint job look pro, keep water on the right side of a tub or shower surround, and also keep out giant insects hell bent on world destruction. When I first saw the Caulked N Ready from Fastcap, I rejoiced at all the crude grade-school “caulk” jokes I could make. OK, I’ll admit it. I first saw the Pro Caulk Caulking Kit on late night TV. You know, the kind of ad that spends 20 minutes pitching the product, then announces you’ll get eight million additional bonus items if you buy within the next ten seconds? Many of the ads sell junk, but I think the Pro Caulk Caulking kit deserves a second look. Pro Caulk has a number of different edges depending on your particular application and bead size. The tools have a simple, easy to use design. But wait, there’s more! Act now (or in the next ten years), and they’ll throw in a caulk scraper and tube of caulk for “free.” You can get your Pro Caulk Caulking Kit (As Seen On TV) for about $20.
