Building fences is sweet. It is a relatively simple way to really dress up your yard, and if built high enough insulates you from neighbors, sweeping mountain vistas, and the awkward explanations as you stumble out less than dressed on a Saturday morning to let the dog out. In some regards it makes an outdoor room for your other home improvement plans. Remodeling a kitchen is a big undertaking. A lot of things need to be considered before taking the plunge. Frankly–a lot of fun things need to be hashed out. For me–I would probably have to just step back, and be relegated to doing the labor. Anything other than that–my wife would decide. She has literally hours of experience, so it is natural she would make the remodeling decisions, right? (Plus–she is a woman. It is a kitchen. I am not being sexist, I’m being a realist. No decision of mine will last longer than 89 seconds–80 of those seconds my wife is thinking of a smart-aleck retort to my awesome suggestion).

Few things are quite as maddening as a stripped screw. Seriously–all these phrases ratchet up the Innuendo points wildly. I actually get a bonus for scoring high on this scale. So–prepare yourselves for thinly veiled jokes as we discuss something that isn’t very fun at all: Trying to get a #@&$ screw out of something when it is stripped out.
For a variety of reasons–a screw will become stripped. (Dollar bills, too much torque, etc.) The head of the screw becomes impossible to get at with whatever type of tool it needs. Standard screws are famous for this. Quickly–a bit of screw review. [click to continue…]
