CLC Work Suspenders – Because Crack Is Whack

There have been many great sayings and quotes developed over the years. Among them are JFK’s “ask not what your country can do for you – ask what you can do for your country.” Or perhaps Ghandi’s “You must be the change you wish to see in the world.” Or my personal favorite from Clara Peller, who stood up and bravely said “Where’s the beef?”

But the great quote that inspires this post is from Ms. Whitney Houston. Quite simply, “crack is whack.” We agree, although I have a feeling we’re referring to a different kind of crack – one that is quite popular and known in the home improvement and plumbing industry.

Whether you call it plumber’s butt or contractor crack, we’re all familiar with the plunging pant of the working man. We’re not judging, we just want to find a way to avoid it (think of the children!) – and we hope with these CLC Padded Work Suspenders, we’ll do just that. If you don’t own, or haven’t won the crack-obscuring Duluth Trading Longtail T’s we recently featured and have been giving away, suspenders may be your best option.

At 2” wide, these suspenders won’t dig into your shoulders or back – instead they’ll sit where they should, comfortably. Adjustable, they’re designed to “fit all” and from the reviews we’ve seen, there haven’t been any issues of these being too short or small for anyone. The clips are strong and steady and keep everything in place, even when you’re crouched down in prime crack-revealing positions.

Besides modesty, these work suspenders can provide a bit of relief on the hips (and the padding is nice too!) while simultaneously giving you a handy place to clip some of your tools – be it pens, a tape measure or even a flashlight. Seems these CLC work suspenders can help you light the way while keeping the moon at bay! (What poetry!)

The CLC 5121 2” Wide Padded Work Suspenders are available at Tool King for $16.99.

Jen (but never “Jenn”) Byck, aka the Fix'n Vixen, is a Toronto-based freelance writer and communication consultant who is undoubtedly home fixated (she is also TV fixated, really bad TV fixated and donut fixated). Her approach to home improvement has been rather trial and error, the latter of which is evidenced by the amount of spackle she buys on an annual basis.
