Have you ever been haunted by a color you came across in nature? Perhaps it was a specific shade of green you saw in the frolicking hills of Ireland while visiting your ancestral homeland. Or maybe you find a special sort of comfort in that particular shade of blush pink reminiscent of grandma’s prized roses. Now, thanks to the Sherwin Williams ColorSnap Visualizer, you can use color inspiration from just about anywhere to plan out your next painting project.

A Rose by Any Other Color is not Grandma’s

So haunted are you by that color, you have even contemplated recreating it on an accent wall in one of the rooms of your house, the decorating theme of which is “homage to Grandma Doyle,” the title of which belongs to one of your Pinterest boards. You have no idea how to duplicate the exact tone of green or pink, not only that, you’re not entirely sure you would want to live with it once you have committed paint to wall. In this day and age of digital technology, you are probably thinking there must be an app for that. Well, you guessed right.

How The ColorSnap Visualizer Works

Once you have downloaded the Sherwin-Williams ColorSnap Visualizer app, you start by matching a photo. This can be a photo that you take on the spot, one you have saved in your phone/tablet, or you have the option of choosing a Pinterest pin.

Pick a Color, Any Color

Next you have the option to adjust the photo if you want to focus in on a specific area, the app automatically selects areas of the image and creates a palette of Sherwin Williams colors based on those areas. If they have not selected the exact spot of the image with the color you want, then you tap the screen on that area of the photo and the app telescopes in on the spot and selects the matching color from Sherwin Williams paint color selections. There is a photo of a room in the bottom right corner of the screen. The wall in the room changes colors as you select different palette swatches provided in the results simply by tapping the screen. You can click on the image of the room to make it bigger too.

Sherwin-Williams ColorSnap Visualizer Includes Supporting Palette in Results

Not only does the app match your specified color, it offers a supporting palette based on the entire image, which can be used when making other design choices for the room. I downloaded the app and used it myself, I found it to be intuitively user friendly. ColorSnap Visualizer lets you try a color before you paint.
