International Builders’ Show – Kitchen & Bath Industry Show Coverage

This marks my fourth “business trip” to Las Vegas in less than 12 months. A lot of great shows have been happening here recently, including The National Hardware Show, STAFDA (the tool show, not the infection), World of Concrete, and now, the International Builders’ Show (IBS) which is co-hosted with the Kitchen and Bath Industry show (KBIS). IBS is the largest annual light construction show in the world, and KBIS has over fifty years of history representing the brands and products at the forefront of the kitchen and bath industry. Aside from sharing three of the same letters in their acronyms, together these shows are wonder-twin-powers activating into the first annual Design and Construction Week! Whether you’re a construction pro, serious remodeler or homeowner, you’ll want to see the latest and greatest products we dig up while tirelessly traversing hundreds of thousands of square feet at the LV Convention Center. If you haven’t ever seen the LV Convention Center, it’s a bit like Hangar 51 from Indiana Jones.

We covered both shows live on Twitter Tuesday afternoon/evening and all day Wednesday. Since evenings in Vegas can take on a life of their own, I recommend you refrain from viewing any tweets might have occured between 6pm and 6am. Even if you were not able to catch our live coverage, be sure to follow HomeFixated on Twitter to catch our next event coverage, as well as daily tweets about the latest tools, news and tool/construction info you don’t want to miss. If you’re not hip to Twitter, fear not! You’ll find our coverage detailed below, no specialty Twitter knowledge needed. You’ll also see more in-depth coverage of hot news and products, including a video or two on HomeFixated in the coming months. Read on for all the juicy Vegas photos (well, almost all), and our usual flavor of snarky commentary with the live Twitter coverage summary below (with 60+ photos)!

About Marc Lyman

Marc grew up under a brave single mom who "encouraged" home improvement on the family home. Early toddler gifts included a tool set, and even a cordless Bosch drill when cordless drills first came out. In grade school (give or take a few years), Marc's mom said, "We need to cut down some trees. . . . here's a chainsaw." A father figure also involved Marc in many home improvement projects, including a summer of home remodeling in Palo Alto, CA. Toss in some Obsessive Compulsive personality traits researching everything home improvement related. The end result: a genetically pre-disposed, socially sculpted home improvement machine! For his complete profile, please visit our About page. Really, it's worth it.
