lee-valley-crack-weederAt HomeFixated.com, we tackled the tough, polarizing issue of butt crack. Today, we’re onto another crack menace – unsightly weeds and growth between sidewalk, patio and path stones and tile. We at HomeFixated.com believe that all cracks should be free of fun-sponging dandelions and grass so that children everywhere can get their passive aggressive feelings out: Stomping on cracks to break their mothers’ backs is a childhood tradition that must be upheld. That said, we think it should be done without terrorizing the greatest mutha’ of all (Mother Nature, of coure!) so a poison-free option had to be found.

The Crack Weeder from Lee Valley is a simple but effective tool in the fight against unsightly grass, weeds and moss. The right-angled 10” steel blade makes short work of unwelcome growth. With a little elbow grease, you’ll have a polished looking sidewalk, patio or walkway that children will flock to from miles and miles. For another green weed removal option, take a look our review of The Weed Hound.

The Crack Weeder can be purchased online at Lee Valley for an amazingly affordable $5.50.

  1. What a great tool! I’ve tried an old screwdriver, one of those forked weed puller things, an old knife and my fingers. This is like a grout remover for weeds. It’s a godsend for the organic gardener. So much herbicide is used on these crack weeds that this tool alone will probably cut down on chemical use by a a significant margin. $5.50 seems like a reasonable price. Thanks for the post.
