Weapon X?: Midwest Glove Lawn Claws Leaf Scoops

lawn_clawsEven the mild-mannered dream of being a super hero. Now here’s a chance for gardeners and everyday people tending the lawn to feel a little bit like Wolverine.

While not exactly made of adamantium, these Lawn Claws from Midwest Gloves & Gear can let you rake up leaves, weeds and other bits faster than you can say Snickety-snick!

I’m sure I don’t have to tell you that these Lawn Claws aren’t meant for you to rake your entire lawn with (after all, I’d never promote a product that involves extra bodily work, especially that of the hunched over nature). Instead, these are meant for the final step of scooping and picking up the leaves or weeds and tossing them into your composter or garbage bag.

With the extra-wide paws, you can grab more, making the job faster. Thanks to the rakey fingers, you can also scrape up the stubborn bits that may be sticking to the ground. You can either slip your hands into the elastic handles or grab the edges like you would a pair of giant salad tongs.

The Leaf Claws measure 14-1/2-inches by 11-3/4-inches each and the elastic handles are adjustable. The Midwest Quality Glove 45TA Lawn Claws Leaf Scoops can be purchased at Amazon for a measly $5.

  1. I bought some of these years ago for under $10, thinking I was throwing away $10 but… loved them. The handles didn’t last long but the claws themselves did… Chris, your idea is good except for the price of these makes it a waste of time… just get ’em and get on with it.

I’ve been hoping to find a new set of these but they’ve changed the name, I think. Anyway I have been googling the wrong words.

  2. The picture for this product made me think. I bet I could make some out of plastic garbage bin lids. Maybe use a bungee or some type of strapping to hold them to my hands. Hmmmn….May be a spring cleanup project.
