It’s that time of year again: when I brave the stifling crowds, searing desert heat, explicit solicitations from unusually friendly women, MC Escher-esque casino navigation, and the overwhelming smell of urine – and that’s all before I even arrive at the National Hardware Show in Las Vegas. The National Hardware Show (NHS) is one I attend every year, and I always find some cool and unique products that catch my interest and are sure to catch yours as well. For those of you not familiar, NHS is a show for the industry (not open to the public), where you can find the latest and greatest products for home, garden, garage, workshop, toolbox, and even your next BBQ or tailgate party. One thing I love about the show is everyone from large corporations to some guy or gal with a great product idea are represented. The show is massive! Taking place at the Las Vegas convention center, covering the show involves leg work that translates into a marathon of booth visits.

This show is expecting 2,600 exhibitors touting more than a quarter million products. I’m not complaining though. . . I’m happy to put in the legwork because I know as a result I’ll be able to connect HomeFixated readers with some great new products, brands and news. We have a little something for everyone, whether you’re a toolnut, gearhead, greenthumb, or appreciater of beautiful spokespeople. As is HomeFixated tradition, we covered the show live on Twitter. In fact, we set a new HomeFixated show Twitter coverage record with just shy of 80 tweets and photos showcasing what caught our attention at the show. Follow HomeFixated on Twitter if you aren’t already so you can catch our next show coverage as it happens. Whether you caught some of our tweets or not, continue on below for all the featured 2014 NHS action!

About Marc Lyman

Marc grew up under a brave single mom who "encouraged" home improvement on the family home. Early toddler gifts included a tool set, and even a cordless Bosch drill when cordless drills first came out. In grade school (give or take a few years), Marc's mom said, "We need to cut down some trees. . . . here's a chainsaw." A father figure also involved Marc in many home improvement projects, including a summer of home remodeling in Palo Alto, CA. Toss in some Obsessive Compulsive personality traits researching everything home improvement related. The end result: a genetically pre-disposed, socially sculpted home improvement machine!
