Pound Nails and Cancer with One Tool: Tomboy Tools Pink for a Purpose Hammer

tomboy-pink-for-a-purpose-hammerNormally, the idea of a pink tool irritates me. The majority of home improvement gadgets and kits marketed “for girls!!!” are downright insulting – they’re cheap, tiny and 80% of the time – pink. I don’t know about other ladies out there, but when I want to work, I want to do it right. I don’t want to look like some ridiculous extra from Legally Blonde 3: Fully Blonded Contractor, fussing with a screw driver that performs its own unappreciated version of the “bend and snap.”

I do have one exception to my no-pink rule, though, and that is for the Pink for a Purpose Hammer by Tomboy Tools. Those who remember the old Secret Deodorant ads can say it with me: It’s strong enough for a man, but made for a woman. This hammer is lightweight (13 oz.) has a nice ergonomic handle and grip but still pounds the daylight out of anything that gets in your way. It also features a handy magnetic head and groove, letting you pick up, rest and set nails with it (although I have to admit that I do still like using the Thumbsaver). But the very best thing about Pink for a Purpose Hammer is that proceeds from its sale go to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, a terrific charity that is furiously working to hammer out breast cancer. That’s one demo project we can all get behind!

The Pink for a Purpose Hammer can be purchased from Tomboy Tools directly for a meager $14.95. Get one for the DIH (that’s Do-It-Herself!) woman in your life.

  1. Actually, this is a pretty good deal for a hammer of this caliber… And given the fact that some of the proceeds benefit breast cancer, how could you possibly go wrong?

It’s not too often that you can get involved in a win-win situation, but this hammer fits the bill.

    • For many years, Susan G. Komen deceitfully funded the Planned Parenthood organization. When this fact became publicly known, I and many others ceased donating to Komen. My wife is a breast cancer survivor and we faithfully participated in the Susan G. Komen races for the cure until we learned a portion of our donations was being side tracked to an organization whose main goal is to kill.
