senco-pc1010-compressorI wish I knew about the Senco PC1010 Compressor a few projects ago. Since I’m constantly tinkering on something, and I love an excuse to use nail guns, I frequently have a need for my compressor. But it’s big, and even with wheels it’s a pain to move around. And hauling it up our stairs is just about enough deterrent for me to procrastinate that project. If only I had a Senco PC1010. My carpenter friend Phil has one and introduced me to it when pin nailing some balusters into place. Yes, it’s tiny, the tank is tiny, the volume of air it can hold is tiny. Despite that, I think it’s a great compressor, and a bargain for the right applications. It weighs just over 20 pounds, making it an easy tote up stairs. It’s super quiet which means you can have it in the same room as you an not lose your hearing. It doesn’t even vibrate your walls loose when running. Given it’s size, I wouldn’t suggest running a framing nailer, spray gun, or air blower off it. It’s strong suit is definitely pin nailing. Even a finish nailer might be straining its capacity. The small tank also means it will cycle on a lot more than most air compressors. But if you’ve got a small project, it will get the job done, and with minimal hassle. And at just $120, the
Senco PC1010 Compressor won’t break your tool budget either.

About Marc Lyman

Marc grew up under a brave single mom who "encouraged" home improvement on the family home. Early toddler gifts included a tool set, and even a cordless Bosch drill when cordless drills first came out. In grade school (give or take a few years), Marc's mom said, "We need to cut down some trees. . . . here's a chainsaw." A father figure also involved Marc in many home improvement projects, including a summer of home remodeling in Palo Alto, CA. Toss in some Obsessive Compulsive personality traits researching everything home improvement related. The end result: a genetically pre-disposed, socially sculpted home improvement machine!
