Shop_Vac_925_40_10My dad is definitely a handy type. Growing up, I remember him working away on whatever needed working on – fixing this, figuring out that. In his spare time, he enjoyed wood carving – as you can imagine, he produced a fair amount of wood shavings, sawdust and various spillages. So, when it was time to clean up, he’d reach for his Shop-Vac – which 80% of the time could be found in my room.

It was not in my possession because I was a particularly messy child or the type who liked cleaning. You see, I was a geek early on and in my eyes, the Shop-Vac made for an excellent partner in my re-enactment of Star Wars scenes. That vacuum was the best little Astro Droid any kid could wish for.

Nerd Life 4Eva!

Admittedly, the Shop-Vac doesn’t really look like R2-D2 and I knew that back then (if anything, it’s more like … SUPER DORK ALERT: an R4 or an R5 astromech droid) – but that’s what imaginations are for, after all.

So that’s why I liked the Shop-Vac. This is why you will: Shop-Vac is THE name in garage and industrial vacuuming. This particular model features a powerful 4 HP motor that provides 55 inches of sealed pressure and 130 CFM. That means it’s going to suck up whatever you direct it at – be it dry materials like sawdust and scrap material or wet stuff like paint and water spills (a high quality filter cartridge that runs on two filtering stages helps deal it deal with the debris). This 10-Gallon Shop-Vac includes a 6-foot locking hose, extension wands, crevice and gulper tools, and a 14-inch floor nozzle with squeegee insert. This model is easy to move around as it features side-carrying handles, caster wheels and an 18-foot power cord.

The Shop-Vac 925-40-10 4-Horsepower 10-Gallon Wet/Dry Vaccum can be found at ToolKing.com for $110. May the force (and filter!) be with you.

Her approach to home improvement has been rather trial and error, the latter of which is evidenced by the amount of spackle she buys on an annual basis.
