tico-titanium-halligan-barNeed to break down a door – frame and all? There’s classically been two ways to go about it: The Jack Torrance method or the fireman’s method. I personally prefer the less homicidal looking of the two. The Tico Titanium Halligan Bar, a super strong, lightweight tool that looks like a crowbar on steroids, is of the same grade and style as those used by emergency service professionals. You can bet that it can get the job done faster than you can say “Heeeeeere’s Johnny!” Ideal for demolitions or home renovations, Tico Halligan Bars (which come in 24”, 30” and 36” titanium rust-proof models) can pry, twist, rip and smash doors, frames, drywall and pretty much any piece of wood that gets in your way. It can also come in handy if your screeching toddler has locked himself in the bathroom (future counseling costs not included in the pricing). These halligans weigh just 4.5 lbs., 5.25 lbs. and 6 lbs. respectively (about half the weight of steel versions) without compromising on the power you can wield with one. Plus, they’re low conductivity which can reduce shock hazards if you’ve been silly enough not to test for electricity before yelling “HULK MAD. HULK SMASH!” and having at ‘er. Home renovators or anyone who wants to have one of these just in case can purchase the Tico Halligan Bar directly through Tico Titanium. They’re not cheap, but it doesn’t seem likely you’ll break it. The 30” version retails for $555. Additional quotes can be requested directly through Tico Titanium.

About Jen

Jen (but never “Jenn”) Byck, aka the Fix'n Vixen, is a Toronto-based freelance writer and communication consultant who is undoubtedly home fixated (she is also TV fixated, really bad TV fixated and donut fixated). Her approach to home improvement has been rather trial and error, the latter of which is evidenced by the amount of spackle she buys on an annual basis.
