Bosch Brute Turbo Breaker Hammer and the SDS-max Demolition Hammer

Bosch Handheld Jackhammer Chowing DownBosch delivers again with another demo hammer and breaker hammer. If you need to chisel, chip or break up concrete, stone, granite or other tough-to-chew material, the DH1020VC 25 lb. SDS-max looks like it’s ready to digest anything left on your plate. Use it vertically, horizontally and adjust the 12- position Vario-lock chisel into whatever position you need. It provides around 17 ft/lbs. of impact energy and retails for around $900.

Bosch Eating up the ConcreteIf you’re really voracious and need to munch-out on some serious concrete, then the BH2770VCD Brute Turbo Kit is the tool for the job. With 43 ft/lbs. of impact energy and weighing in at only 63 pounds, this powerful, yet light demolition tool reminds us of a Japanese teenager at a hotdog eating contest – not much weight, but they can sure can eat up some stuff. The Brute Turbo Kit retails for about $1,800 so unless you’re really hungry to break up some concrete, then this mean machine might put a normal bank account on a sudden diet. Visit Bosch.com for more info on both of these plug-in demo tools.

Stanley PowerLock Turns 50

Stanley is Old!
Stanley is Old!

Before Stanley came out with their FatMax line of tape measures, the PowerLock tape measure used to rule the ruler roost. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of this iconic tape ruler, Stanley has released a limited edition of five PowerLock tape measures to pay tribute to important highlights in the PowerLock’s history. From Stanley’s tribute to the NASA for being taken to the moon on the Apollo 11 lunar lander to a celebration of “Made in the USA” products (there’s even a replica of the original “Life Guard Yellow” design!) there’s a taste of every important era in the PowerLock’s long history. Take a look at all five of the limited edition PowerLock tape measures right here, take a step back in time and own the same tape measure good ole granddad had for just $9.99!

The Powermatic PM2800B Drill Press Loves to Eat Up Wood

The new Powermatic PM2800B Drill Press takes the phrase “filling your pie hole” with a “little bit” to a whole new level. This 18” stationary drill press offers a big bowl full of features. With a 6-in. quill travel from a single turn of the handle, to powerful LED lights for a shadow-free work piece and twin lasers that guide the drill bit precisely where you want it, this Powermatic drill press looks a lot like a Ukrainian discotheque dance off contest / gypsy wedding reception. But don’t be fooled into complacency by the laser light show — it’s powerful enough for the biggest of woodworking shops, yet affordable enough ($1,399.99) for home DIY shops. Locate a Powermatic dealer right here and learn more about this “hungry for holes” stationary drill press.

  1. “weighing in at only 63 pounds” should read “weighing in at a back-wrenching 63 pounds”. Those things are absolute brutes to use. After recently using a 25lb hammer to demo a brick mailbox, that monster would have you a good bit into the Earth’s crust if you’re not careful about where you turn it on….

    • Good question! This is mentioned in the terms on the giveaway page, but no one actually reads those anyway. The useful / funny comment or the subscription has to be made in the month of the giveaway to enter you into the running. However we periodically run giveaways directly to our subscriber list (regardless of when you subscribed), so don’t go unsubscribing yourself. But in terms of our monthly giveaway page, if you’re already subscribed from a prior month, you’ll want to post a comment during the month of the giveaway to throw your hat in the ring.

  2. Eeeeeeeeeeeeek! “affordable enough ($1,399.99) for home DIY shops” That must be for a different DIY’er than me! I have trouble parting with $200 for most tools unless they offer some serious versatility. Now if you were to give one to me I’d be glad to take it off your hands. But how is the precision as that’s the part that seems to fall short (ie is a 1/2″ hole a 1/2″ or is there so much wobble that’s it’s a 3/4″ or oblong hole)?

  3. Maybe it’s just me–but $1400 for a drill press seems out of the price range for most home DIY shops. For table saws, perhaps…but not a drill press.
