Wedge-It or wedgies, which do you prefer? Personally, I would vote for the Wedge-It. If only I had one of these last weekend when I was staining and finishing a doorway. The door kept swinging in the breeze and I was constantly stooping over to find some impromptu door stop. Ultimately I settled on a dead blow hammer which I kept tripping on. OSHA would not have been proud. The Wedge-It is a nifty 3 ounce block of Lexan (what they use for bullet resistant materials if I am not mistaken). Originally designed for emergency services, it is cleverly made to fit on the top or bottom of a door, or on the hinge pin. Available for around $8 plus shipping directly from Open Door Industries in California.
About Marc Lyman
Marc grew up under a brave single mom who "encouraged" home improvement on the family home. Early toddler gifts included a tool set, and even a cordless Bosch drill when cordless drills first came out. In grade school (give or take a few years), Marc's mom said, "We need to cut down some trees. . . . here's a chainsaw." A father figure also involved Marc in many home improvement projects, including a summer of home remodeling in Palo Alto, CA. Toss in some Obsessive Compulsive personality traits researching everything home improvement related. The end result: a genetically pre-disposed, socially sculpted home improvement machine!
