2015 Milwaukee Tool New Product Symposium

2015 Milwaukee Tool New Product Symposium

Marc Lyman June 16, 2015 15 Comments

Attending Milwaukee Tool’s annual New Product Symposium is always an adventure. From carousing with fellow media and certain unnamed Milwaukee exec’s / product managers, to taking in all that is new, shiny, and powerful in the tool world, Milwaukee’s events are a blast. In recent years, Milwaukee’s new product innovation has been more fast and furious than a lowered, turbo-charged Japanese import with flashy race graphics. While some tool companies are perfectly content to roll out a few new products at a typical media event, Milwaukee goes BIG. What’s even more remarkable is not only the sheer quantity of new product coming from them, but also the amount of innovation packed into each and every product line. What I’m trying to say here, is you’re about to see a glimpse into the future of tools and tool technology, and that future is very red. Tool junkies. . . prepare to get your fix!

There are two ways you can take in all the new tool action:
1) Live 2) Not Quite Live

Since the event is now over, if you didn’t catch the live coverage by following @HomeFixated on Twitter, then you really only have option 2, the Not Quite Live option. But don’t worry, you’ll still see all our photo/video coverage and pithy commentary summarized neatly for you below.

About Marc Lyman

Marc grew up under a brave single mom who "encouraged" home improvement on the family home. Early toddler gifts included a tool set, and even a cordless Bosch drill when cordless drills first came out. In grade school (give or take a few years), Marc's mom said, "We need to cut down some trees. . . . here's a chainsaw." A father figure also involved Marc in many home improvement projects, including a summer of home remodeling in Palo Alto, CA. Toss in some Obsessive Compulsive personality traits researching everything home improvement related. The end result: a genetically pre-disposed, socially sculpted home improvement machine! I wish Milwaukee would make a m18 electric nail gun. I know Milwaukee has a small brad nailer or something like that in their m12 lineup but what i want is a real full size nail gun. I was disappointed not to see that in their lineup this time around.

I like it! Honestly, it looks like Milwaukee took a step back, studied, and then made a conscious decision to go “back to the basics” while incorporating a contemporary power source. I have a shop full of M12 and now you’re making me want more……… Imagine that, basics, technology and good marketing! And, it all comes in the right color!

Incredible! Milwaukee may have just won me away from ***. I have been eyeing a Fuel upgrade for the shop in bulk. I think this might have convinced me.

Grar, you’ve got me so curious who triple star tool company is, but that was very sensible of you not to share! Anyway, glad you liked what you saw here. The Fuel line is definitely filled with some amazing tools.

This is the best coverage of this event on the web. Thanks.

Those 9.0 ah batteries are absurd! The planer looks awesome too. I can’t wait to get my hands on one of the 2nd gen fuel impacts. They look awesome. Talk about disruption and innovation. Looks like other guys are gonna be playing catch up. I would like to see some more M12 and general woodworking tools in the future.

Awe, thanks William! Glad you dug our coverage! I can say even media that’s now very accustomed to disruptive innovation was pretty stunned by the 9.0AH batteries. Thanks for your other feedback as well. Oh, and you’re not the first person that has wished Milwaukee put a bit more focus back on the woodworking side of the equation.
