Gladiator Garageworks has become the name for outfitting your man cave. I don’t want to be sexist, but I’m having trouble coming up with an female man cave equivalent. Any suggestions? Woman cave just doesn’t have quite the same effect.
If you’re looking for stylish garage storage solutions and a way to organize your garage, Gladiator Garageworks is worth taking a look at. Here in Southern California, people don’t actually use their garages for cars. Instead most garages are loaded with junk people rarely use. If you get enough of your “stuff” put neatly away, Gladiator Garageworks can clear the way for your Lamborghini to move back into the garage. Or, if you’re feeling the recession like the rest of us, perhaps a pimped out 80’s Yugo or Daihatsu Charade.
I talked with Lou Ann Schafer at the National Hardware Show in Vegas earlier this year. She was kind enough to walk me through their product line and some of its features. In particular she pointed out three absolutely critical items for just about any man or woman cave:
1) The “Chillerator”
It’s a beefy fridge on wheels engineered to keep certain frothy beverages ice cold, even if your garage runs hot in the summer.
2) The Bottle Opener
It works with their handy wall systems. The perfect sidekick to the Chillerator.
3) 30 Inch Stool
The last ingredient for a proper and productive visit to the garage or shop.
Cold beer, opener, stool. Need I elaborate? Aside from those three critical items, Gladiator offers garage cabinets, organizers, great looking workbenches and the Gladiator Claw. What’s a Gladiator Claw you ask? Although it sounds like something that might come in handy in a bloodsport battle, it’s actually a clever bike storage system. The Claw Advanced Bike Storage System uses an intuitive push-lock design makes storing your bike a lot less awkward. Just push upward once to activate its plunger-like mechanism, and two rubber-encased metal arms will thread through your rim and secure the wheel. You can see it in action in the video below. Very popular and favorably reviewed online, although a few users question its superiority over a standard padded hook.
Check out my chat with Lou Ann Schafer of Gladiator Garageworks for a full run-down on their product line-up:
Gladiator makes a lot of garage storage and organization products. Many items come in two grades, the more expensive “Premier” line, and the less expensive version that I will very cleverly call the “Not Quite As Premier” line. Premier tends to be pre-assembled, and most of the quality-oriented reviews I checked out seemed to lean toward the Premier versions. For your shopping convenience we’ve listed several Gladiator Garageworks products available directly from Amazon (and in some cases with Free Shipping). Get that man or woman cave organized so you can roll your Lambo back in the garage asap!
Gladiator GarageWorks Premier 30-Inch Wall GearBox $240
Gladiator GarageWorks Chillerator Garage Refrigerator 19 Cubic Feet $1150
Gladiator Garageworks Modular GearDrawers Cabinet $455
Gladiator GarageWorks Premier 24-Inch Wall GearBox $162
Gladiator GarageWorks Jumbo Premier Gearbox $498
The big difference I found with the Premier line of Gladiator cabinets is the drawers on the Premiers are full extension allowing you to easily retrieve tools near the back of the drawers. The RTA do not fully extend.
Very good to know! Thanks for the additional info Scott!
