Let’s see the jolly old man find a way to crawl out of this fireplace!
Wall-mounted fireplaces can be very sleek, space-saving and create a look that no painting can rival. The style we found at NorthernTool is no different.
A popular model is the ProCom Wall-Mounted Fireplace. At 20,000 BTU, this vent-free gas (propane or natural gas) fireplace generates a great deal of heat and light for a room up to 500 square feet. Delightfully, the fireplace itself and the glass protection don’t heat up which is a great safety feature. The heat is pushed up and outward, a design that makes this fireplace highly effective in warming a room or small home on a cold winter night.
This particular Santa Challenge measures 38 5/8″ x 12 1/4″ x 27 1/4″ and features a warm cherry with black trim finish, a built-in thermostat and includes a wall bracket for installation. From all accounts, the fireplace is easy to install (the most intensive part is switching out an LP regulator for a natural gas line – or the other way around depending on your home and preferences) and can be moved fairly easily should you want to take it with you when you move. We wouldn’t blame you, it’s a great looking feature piece!
The ProCom Wall-Mounted Dual Fuel Vent-Free Fireplace 20,000 BTU, Cherry, Model# RD-C retails for $399.99 at Northern Tool.
Could this fireplace be used in a corner? My wife purchased one, so I have the specs, I know that it needs to be at least 4″ from the ground and 24 inches from the ceiling. If I mounted it at a 45degree angle across a 90degree angle corner and covered it with DUROCK and then a piece of granite, do you think that it would work? It is for my man cave and angling it like this would have it send heat to my bar area.
Hi Chuk. We don’t have the install spec’s on this product, so I’d recommend you contact the manufacturer directly with your plan and see if they have any code compliance or safety concerns. Better safe than sorry. . . you definitely don’t want to burn down your bar!
