Casting Call – HGTV’d

Never miss an episode of Design Stars? Think Candice Olson is a home decor goddess? Have a small altar dedicated to Vern Yip in your basement? (Ok, that last one is edging on scary. Please speak to someone about that.) If you’re HGTV-obsessed and have always wished to have a room in your house made-over by an HGTV pro, now’s your chance! HGTV is casting around the country to find fans in need of cool home renovations and decor makeovers.

The premise of the show, HGTV’d, is pretty simple: fans who have a dreary room in their homes get a surprise visit by a star from HGTV. The expert will then add all kinds of life to the space using their expertise and your greatest design dreams. The show is looking for adventurous fans who want to make a big splash in a room “where fun happens, such as home theaters, family rooms, kitchens, outdoor spaces, multi-purpose spaces, rec rooms, garage/multi-purpose space, etc.” Notice how bedrooms weren’t mentioned? It’s because that’s not where fun happens, that’s where magic happens. *Cue the cheesy ‘bon chica bon bon’ music.*

While the show isn’t willing to tear down walls to get you the room you want, they are looking to go wild with design. Are you open to wacky ideas that might include an electric green couch or a bright pink pool table? If you’d like anything that just isn’t ordinary, you’re likely the right fit for this show! Who knows, the HGTV’d truck could show up at your door!

But wishing for it won’t make it happen. You’ll need to apply by submitting a video and / or load up a picture of your sad-ass room on HGTV’s website. Here’s a video with more information about how to do that:
