I enjoy a good buzz cooking and fancy myself quite the chef. But, even if I hated to cook, after seeing these antique ranges by Elmira Stove Works, I’d never leave the kitchen. Elmira Stove Works, a family owned business located in Ontario, has been producing cook stoves since the 1970s. Their custom ranges are built using authentic design plans from the 1800s and incorporate all the modern features you would expect today. Each range is handcrafted to accommodate your needs and personal taste. Their full line of kitchen appliances includes refrigerators, dishwasher panels, wall ovens and microwaves in complementary vintage and antique styles.
Ovens are available in electric, convection electric or gas and all models are self-cleaning, a sweet, additional feature. Elmira Stove Works offers six, historic color choices and multiple trim work options in nickel, copper and brass. Customers can choose from ten different range tops available in electric, gas or dual fuel and either four or six burners.
The ranges are truly “create your own” and Elmira’s website provides a handy feature, which allows you to “live” design your perfect range. Try it with any color and add options such as warming shelves, trivets or decorative door frames for a unique and personalized look.
With over 150,000 design possibilities, it’s easy to get wrapped up. I was sucked in for a good hour, (lost in serious work-avoidance mode), and easily put together a couple hundred models myself. This program is very cool because as you add on different features, it creates a picture of exactly what your finished range will look like. It also tallies an exact price. You might want to make sure you’re sitting down when that baby pops up. For instance the ultimate, dream range I came up with priced out at just a tad more than I was hoping for at $4,832.00. (In fairness, I should note that I got a bit carried away with my vision and added almost every feature they offer.)
Elmira’s refrigerators come in four different models, the wall oven and microwave are available in the color of your choice and the dishwasher panel kits are compatible with several models. (The panel kits won’t fit every model out there, so be sure to check your’s before placing an order.)
Prices for these must-see, antique appliances totally vary. For example, refrigerators start at $3995.00, while each Elmira range is custom built to individual specifications, so may cost more, depending on how many features are included.
