Why Men Are So Into Their Decks

We hate to gender stereotype, but let’s face it, men are totally into their decks. For some men, it’s a true obsession. Their lives literally revolve around their decks. I’m not sure what age it happens, but it’s usually when they’re quite young. Once they realize the joy their deck can bring, there’s no turning back. This article isn’t just for men though. Women, stay with us here, you’ll gain incredible insight into the male psyche by reading (and viewing) the rest of this article.

Luckily, we’ve found a crack team from Blue Collar TV that’s provided a careful analysis about men and their decks. They discuss critical issues like deck size, hardness, manscaping landscaping, protection, deck economics (“If you have money, you don’t need a big deck”), and even a little astronomy.

Remember gentlemen, it’s healthy to be into your deck, just don’t let it take over your whole life. Thanks to my mother in law for forwarding this video (she’s sporty that way), and for knowing precisely the kind of high-brow humor we shoot for at HomeFixated.

While we frequently solicit comments, honestly, we don’t really want to hear about your deck. Please, don’t take it personally.

About Marc Lyman

Marc grew up under a brave single mom who "encouraged" home improvement on the family home. Early toddler gifts included a tool set, and even a cordless Bosch drill when cordless drills first came out. In grade school (give or take a few years), Marc's mom said, "We need to cut down some trees. . . . here's a chainsaw." A father figure also involved Marc in many home improvement projects, including a summer of home remodeling in Palo Alto, CA. Toss in some Obsessive Compulsive personality traits researching everything home improvement related. The end result: a genetically pre-disposed, socially sculpted home improvement machine! For his complete profile, please visit our About page. Really, it's worth it.

It would just be a bunch of lies about how huge everyone’s deck is anyway.

But Jeff, HomeFixated readers and commenters are so much more sophisticated than that! Oh wait, never mind, you’ve got a solid point there!
