Jay from CopTool.com recently broke the news that the Ridgid SeeSnake New 100’ microREEL vs 30’ microDRAIN was on the market.

We recommend checking out what Jay has to say about it if you were thinking about this product or getting any equipment to deal with water main and plumbing inspections and / or identifying blockages.

At a cost of $2000 – $4000 per complete system, this likely isn’t the sort of thing you’d buy if you’re just dealing with a two-bathroom home that may or may not have issues with a water main. A product like the Ridgid SeeSnake is probably better for a plumber, multi-unit property owner or a home flipper who is likely to come across several pipes and water mains in his or her ventures.

Regardless of your reasons for wanting one, coming across a SeeSnake is much, much, much preferred to coming across a real snake in a toilet (and if you have even the slightest fear of snakes, I should warn you not to click on that hyperlink. Or this other one. While these clips could be worse – the slitherers aren’t lunging toward unsuspecting bums or anything – they’re still pretty creepy and possibly phobia-inducing. I know I’ll be flipping the toilet lid in a fairly spazzy manner this week thanks to those videos).

Here’s to free and clear plumbing!
